Saving a Cube Structure

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to save a cube stucture(and virtual cube) , in order to import it to another server (servers aren't accessible each other...).

Thus, I won't have to redo the cube from scratch in the other server.

Thanks !!!

Is it about Analysis Services 2000?|||Yes|||

It is possible to back up the cube by a right click on the database folder. You can then restore it on a second server. Be aware that you must use the same name for the data source.

On this link(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8d9e7a70-eef4-44c3-a0c5-deece0f8b4b4&displaylang=en) you can also find an unsupported scripting tool.

The cubes are inside the Analysis Manager in the Analysis Services, so, when I right-click on a cube there isn't an option for backup.

Would that scripting tool work in this situation?

Thanks

From my memory, regarding AS2000, you can archive and restore the database, not on a single cube.

But after a restore to the new server you can delete the cubes that you do not want.

The scripting tool demands some tests and learning.

Kind regards

I remember seeing a metadata scripting tool for AS 2000. Try searching for it, it might spare you the hassle of archiving and restoring data alon with the metadata.
